Good on you Phill for being pro active in the hopes of getting something heading in the right direction,maybe some group like Hunting and Fishing with their 34 stores nation wide could all pool in for the $40,000 that's only just under $1,200 per store, I am sure at least most North Island stores would benefit way more than that on anglers stocking up before heading up North, I personally spend between $120 to $150 at my local store in making sure all of my gear is in top shape,and I know there is way more than 10 anglers from my area that head to the Snapper Bonanza each year. Just a thought if you are looking at putting a bit of pressure possible sponsors.
