One thing I did find on the tournament's Facebook page, one guy, sorry I can't recall his name, was adamant the 2015 tournament will go ahead. He said quite openly they were just short on one sponsor for the naming rights, he had someone lined up and he was confident of success.
Gary, I have no idea what your question has to do with the concerns of this subject. The thread when started was the possibility a very popular surfcasting tournament may me forced to stop running. I am confused as to why membership of the NZACA has anything to do with it, would you care to explain?
However, for your benefit, yes I was a member for many years, this when secretary to the Pania club. However, I then got very disillusioned with the way the association worked with and for their members, as did many other clubs. As a lone angler with no interest in clubs or monthly competitions I can find no reason to be attracted to join them now ... but that is an entirely different matter. This website is to attract input from all anglers, not just club anglers or NZACA members.
For the last several years I am a fully paid up member of the NZACA: the New Zealand Alcohol Consumers Association, I was recently elected a life member. I do hope this helps.
