I too am surprised to hear there has been an upgrade to the Veritas low rider guide rods, I am pretty confident Gary Kemsley has not mentioned there is a new Veritas rod on the market and he should know.

In all fairness many shops are discounting the low rider guide models, for what reason I am not going to guess. I am in my senior years and my seventy-two-year-old-eyesight is not all it used to be.

When I fished with Veritas rods, the rods being white gave me problems seeing them, especially when the sun was behind the rod. This is not being a pedant, I find a dark rod, with a white section between the top two rings for night fishing, far easier to see.

This is a personal point of view, younger anglers with far better eyes than mine may not have this problem.
