I used to use a 7 sprint off the rocks and surfcasting . It cast pretty good even with the levelwind.I don't think they are as strong as the old 7000 reel probably due to the 6.3-1 ratio , I'd still buy another though , even thou mine shit it self catching 40+lb kingfish
