Fully agree with you on Jaypeegees post Hangler it was a very interesting one, This will be my very first time owning an abu overhead, I still remember the abu cardinal trout reel I spent so long paying off with my weekly pocket money as a kid only for my older brother to take it without me knowing and lent it to his mate who in turn broke the reel seat mount from the body of it clean off and they never replaced it. I spent quite a while pondering what reel I should get I was choosing between a penn squall 15, daiwa SL20SHB, Okuma cortez 5 (recommended to me by Phill) then this abu ambassadeur seven popped up in the local charity shop and I just said bugger it and went and got it. Now if I like casting with these reels and I like what the abu has to offer me I would probably look at saving up to get a brand new one but would have to be a proper swedish made one. Also thanks to those who have given their input on this thread too it has all been highly appreciated.
