What else? A postcard from another white guy/Asian woman couple.
That whole white guy/Asian woman thing doesn't sit well with me at all. Why is it so prevelent? Do they discuss their motives when just around other Asian women?
I don't necessarily mean that they're looking for a visa or a rich guy. Maybe they just can't get an Asian guy because Asian guys don't find them attractive or they're too old or whatever. That's similar to why white men often go for Asian women: white women aren't interested in them.
Anyway, congratulations on the baby. Wow, he's been in Taiwan for four years. I think that he's like a teaching assistant. How long is he planning on doing this? He's maybe...35. Something like this. Well, still. He's in Taiwan. That's still cool.
It's like me living in London. Even if I wasn't doing this super awesome job, it would still be impressive just having moved to London.
Hey, yeah. It is his wife. And they had the child in wedlock. How novel. It's probably Sleepyflower's wife who pressed for marriage. Asian women are like that. They're traditional folk.
They aren't all down with the kids like that edgy hipster dullard Simon H with his denunciation of marriage and having multiple kids outside of marriage. Let's see if he updated his riveting Twitter.
Ahhh...I can't find it now. Maybe he deleted it. No, here it is. He retweeted something about Britian's housing market. He retweeted some man-shaming feminist Tinder screenshot. He retweeted a lot of feminist stuff, actually, including a whole conversation that doesn't even make sense. I suspect that Simon is "transitioning". Whether he gets the penis turned inside out or just the implants is the only question that remains.
So where was I? Well, there's Glasgow. I'm going tomorrow. I'm going to take the earliest off-peak train and get there at 2.00. Hopefully there will be seats because I can't stand even for the 20 minute Underground journeys nevermind a 4.5 hour journey. There were loads of seats last time but I'm still not 100% if tomorrow is a bank holiday.
Hopefully I find something on the first full day (Tuesday) so that I can just relax the last three days. Maybe even leave early, I mean what the hell? It's just £60/day that I spent. Who really cares if I sit there in the hotel wasting time or not?
There's like five places in the same small area that I'm interested in that were posted recently. Hopefully I can get one of those. Can view them all in one day if they're available. If not, can broaden the search. And there's always new flats being listed.
Pretty easy to navigate Glasgow as well. It's more or less a grid system. No windy bullshit streets like one finds in, for example, London. And all the streets are clearly labeled unlike in Dublin and to a lesser extent London.
Only 600,000 people. That's about the same as Helsinki. Man, that will be sweet. Kind of a small town. I'm comparing to London, though. I mean, it's not Maybury.
But yeah, a genuinely small town would be awesome. Maybe I could go to the US after this. Live in the smallest, most inbred town I can find.
Or even Scotland. I'll see how the job goes but if indeed I have to work along Western Scotland, I should be able to move out of Glasgow and into one of these inbred villages without it affecting the job. Maybe even one of those little islands. Or the Highlands.
8500 people in Oban. They don't even have any places to rent. Or for sale. You just have to build your own place.
Let me check Millport on one of these islands. 1280 people. Just one property. It's £475 for three bedrooms. Or you can buy a pretty amazing looking three bedroom place for £175,000. Or shittier places for a third of that.
Anyway, that would be cool. Just get away from the bullshit. Maybe work once or twice a month.
