You can be TOO fair to customers, but it is in their long term interest for you to earn sufficient and have a pension so that you remain in business to keep giving them a good service ( so you are in fact doing them a favour by charging them more)
A bit like the buddhist ideology of looking after yourself so that you are in a position to then look after others
