We used Thomas Higgins in our last attempt to get our money back. They were very good and would recommend them. However when the first and second letter is sent and still no money. they will pass it on to another solicitor that's when it's time to give up unless you have a bottomless money pit. I think the best thing is to give a very low credit limit to your accounts, or better still none at all, then when they decide not to pay it's not has hard hitting. The Law isn't very good when it comes the this.
