Legally speaking I have no idea,

but I would of thought the person suffering a loss or injury or both should be the claimant.

If your wife was hurt she should claim for her injuries, but you as the owner of the vehicle have suffered the financial costs of the repairs to your vehicle so you would be the claimant for those costs.
