Thanks Graham, and to all who contributed.
I rang for legal advice via a free helpline on my house insurance and they said that both my wife and I could be the claimant and could sue in joint names or just myself, it did'nt really matter.
I think I shall sue just in my name as the car is my property ,with my wife appearing at court along side me if necessary.

Hassle, but I am not going to risk losing my motor trade no claims.
