Hi all,
I'm against new laws, we've got far too many. One thing I've always been curious about though, is how mobile repairers get round items in the service schedule that require a level surface and specialist equipment. I'm thinking of wheel and headlamp alignment amongst other things. I know these checks are often skipped in garages with the kit. However, do the mobile guys come clean and tell the customer they've had to omit items on the schedule? What about fuel system work, how many mobile repairers have a fuel recovery unit on the van? I suppose that many of us that spend a small fortune complying with HSE regs get a bit peeved by those who blatantly don't, mobile or static. What happens to the waste generated by mobiles, do they have a waste oil tank at their home address? Definitely all the public waste sites in this area are for strictly non-commercial use. There are a few mobile guys in this area. The specialists, such as auto electricians do a fairly professional job, but most of the general servicing outfits are pretty poor. I judge this mainly on the quality,or lack of it in their MOT rectification work
