That's a good point James. The road risks part of the policy should be unaffected as you are not breaking the new law until you actually commence work. But the public liability aspect is a bit worrying.
Perhaps someone from Road Runners could to comment?
Another thing, the part of that act that covers the repairing of cars is being phased in by April 2006. On the Defra website it says that consultations on the regulations will take place from Autumn 2005. So there is still time for us to write in and air our views.
Once the law is in place all mobile operators will be at the mercy of their local council as to how strictly they enforce it. On the face of it, almost overnight, quite a few thousand techs are going to find their businesses declared "illegal". As usual, it's a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
