We do very few WYW MOTs,they are normally left for at least half a day.Our 4 mechanics are all testers which gives us a lot of flexibility. The MOT ramp is actually required for very little time,perhaps 20mins,the rest of the test can be done along side,ie,gas test and internal test,and of course logging on/off. So we can be doing 2 tests at once,16 a day (we lucky if we do half that)But as you know the morning is very busy when most of the tests are done, We can log on/off fairly quickly now but what takes time is a heavy fail with lots of advise's. Time can vary from 40mins to 1.30mins,average 1 hour,which is not much different to pre computerisation Hope this goes some way to explaining how you could do 16 tests a day with 1 test bay
