Think of it in this way,

If your son comes to you for help with his maths homework you have two ways to help
1 Give him the answers
2 Explain the problem to him + how to work it out for himself and then help him along as he works it out

Now if you decide to help using option 1 how many times do you keep doing this as he learns nothing and you keep repeating the same work night after night after night
Or would you chose option 2 and when he gets comfortable at that level you can watch him progress and improve himself.

Which option would you chose honestly?
