    Alan I have had the same fault, when the pre cat sensor was switching slow but maybe not slow enough for the ECU to detect it, making the post cat sensor switch and bringing up a fault code,
    the most common fault is a none OE cat or a partially blocked cat, giving a good reading for an MOT test but still shows a ripple at the post cat sensor bringing up a fault,
