Hi guys had a Ford Focus 1.6 02 in with same code P0420 last week and was scratching my head as to the cause. Having cleared the code 6 days ago and read these posts I took the liberty of ringing the customer to ask what fuel they fill with the answer was BP unleaded.
Putting aside hurt pride as to the advice given I for one have found the suggestions fascinating and has added to my wealth of knowledge. Surely we have learnt in this trade there is no one simple answer to these problems. A myriad of circumstances can make this one code appear, the sum knowledge of your experiences I hope will make me wise in making my own judgment next time. Thanks Joe for raising this one.
