    Hi Darren,

Thank you for the clear explanation.

I'm not going to get into a fuel/cat/sensor fault discussion, all I'm interested in at this point is the % efficiency that triggers the P0420.

    Is this set under EOBD?
Can the VM's set their own threshold?

If I was testing a 'Cat' the old way by measuring the pre and post 'Cat' gas levels, I'd bin anything less than 75% efficient.

I have an on going situation at the moment with a 206, that logs P0420, every 6 months or so. When you can establish comms, the history shows this DTC to have been cleared at least 5 times in the past. Given what we know about PSA's failure to implement all of the OBD routines on on early compliant cars, and despite the fact that the DTC must have been cleared by the VM at some point, I think all this needs is a software flash.

Can anybody suggest why it takes 6 months or so for the DTC to set? (I know why, but maybe some members can think on that one).

    Regards

    Mark
