Hi Bryan There's a lot of fanning about going on. Forget about VVC problems as already stated this is on 1800cc engine and more to the point only on the early MEMS 2J variants system not MEMS 3. Firstly is there a DTC Flag for coolant temp sensor circuit. Does the cooling fan run all the time with KOEO ???????, or KOER ???????. when the engine engine is cold have alook at live data and check CTS data. if its on 60 Degrees Celsius then the default flag is tripped for high volts / open circuit. Get another Rover 25/45/MG etc 1.4 , 1.6 or 1.8 and swap the ECU over. You don't need to programme or use T4 as all you are going to do is static testing. switch ign on, If fans on the donor car now run with one of your ECU's then they are both duff or configured wrong. If the fan DOES NOT RUN you have a circuit fault on your car. HTH Darren.........
