Hi Chaps First of all it looks like i have made an error when reading the injection ECM's history zone within the clip machine I will try to upload ajpeg of the saved page. The history zone shows 4 part numbers, three of these part numbers are not recognised by the dealer. But these three part numbers also state that they have had re-programmings 1,2,3 respectively. the dates for these reprogramming are read backwards 01-09-26,03-01-06, and 03-09-16. the only recognised part number is for the injection ECM the reprogramming date for this is 07-06-01 but because the other dates are read backwards i made the mistake of reading this one backwards. therefore it should be read forwards so the programming date was actually 2001. also against this part number it states number of reprogramming 0. so my 2005 reprog disc should be ok. I spoke to the customer who has owned the car from new and he said the car has not been back to renault for nearly four years so it can't have 2007 updates in it's ecm. But this now gives me my second problem in the fact that i am probably using the machine wrong and the dealers (parts Dept) have no idea what code i want. The dealers (parts) seem to think it is the vehicle security code i possibly need. After going through the programming screen in the clip machine i get to a screen that has an emply box that asks for "vehicle Technical specification optional" and message underneath saying "10 alphanumeric number is provided by Techline within scope of an emergency procedure" Is this the code that is required to unlock my reprog disc ? The above mentioned box does state (optional) so i can go past this section by pressing Validate, this is when the battery volt check is performed and i get my error message saying ECM already programmed. At no time during this procedure has any code been created that i could give to the dealer. If anybody on here is actually using clip and carrying out flash updates and programming ecm's could you possibly explain where i am making my mistakes and what is the exact procedure for getting the code off the dealer? Does the code come from the Parts dept ? or the service Dept ? Are the dealers obliged to give or sell you the code ? or is it just cloak and dagger and all backdoor stuff. Cheers Dave
