We have a Laguna in today that when hot throttle control is lost and engine hunts around 2300 RPM .We took the throttle body off & stripped it down .Inside is two tracks for position of butterfly & a DC synchronous motor. The butterfly default position is partially open ,is position is enough to allow the engine to reach this 2300 RPM the engine hunts because it's "@idle "but with the throttle open to far. Now all we have to done is get it in failure with the scope on it and find out if the motor is not responding to input from ECU or the ECU is not driving the Motor.
