    Hmmm, that really depends on your labour rates or how greedy the parts supplier is.

    It doesnt take long to strip down those HCS engines.

    Good exchange engines are dearer than second hand engines, and second hand engines hold good money lately.

    The engine would still have to be stripped to find the faulty part anyway, you cant just say to the customer 'it needs another engine'. Unless its something obvious like a hole in the block or something.

    Anyway, this forum is about finding faults and sharing the information along the way, not if a job is worth doing or not. Most of the time the problem is not so much the cost of the repair but the time spent investigating.
