Last week we had a tdi sharan here as a non start and was bringing up fuel temp sensor and quantity actuator faults, but on live data there was nothing wrong.When the fuel temp sensor was scoped there was an ac voltage superimposed when the quantity actator did the initial self test.Thinking now that there must be leakage between the wires to these we did wiring checks and found leakage.This was caused by the plastic moulding by the coolant bottle behind the battery chafing thro the loom and water and dirt was causing the signals to be corrupted.Check this are just in case you have something similar giving daft problems.
