Firstly thanks to Paul (Gunner) Steve Lacey, Steve Harvey, Phill Hollins and Mike Walker (ATP Technologies). This one really caught me out as I have always felt the best way to test an ECU is in the vehicle and if all the inputs and power supplies/earths are correct and the ECU outputs are incorrect it has to be the ECU that is at fault. WRONG! So I found out the hard way. Well done Gunner and Mike Walker you were spot on it was the amplifier. We put a genuine one on and away it went. Particular thanks to Mike for taking the time to explain to me how the amplifier can modify the signal that goes into it from the ECU! Just a thought, I wonder how much money UKautotalk has saved the general public (and motor trade) through education? Thanks again guys Paul
