: This idea that the 'people know best' about : something like pulling out of the EU ...
Actually DT, I'm one of those who who does believe the people know best. I certainly know more about my body than any medical professional I've ever met and I am an amateur. And as for politicians they are often silver spoon types, there through their contacts and sense of privilege. What do they know about the great unwashed? They are (in theory) there to represent the people and in the referendum, the people spoke.
One of the key questions for me is why is Brexit presented as so complex when (an amateur and one of the great unwashed) it seems to me to be so simple?
We (Great Britain) already have well proven and long standing practices for importing from and exporting to countries all over the frigging world. Once out of the EU, we simply use the exact same procedures for EU imports and exports. No complexity there?
As for EU legislation that falls by the way, its easy to identify. It should have been done 2 years ago. All that is needed is replace it with new legislation, or rely on the first court case in each area, and let that set the precedent.
And as for paying the EU to "let us leave", the only correct response (in my amateur opinion) would be two fingers.
