We will hve to disagree , much as half the nation disagrees with the other half. Brexit has been a fiasco, and Jonathan Pie explains pretty cogently why. It's not a "fake" deal; true, there's nothing to recommend it, but then there's nothing to recommend leaving the EU either. It's a form of leaving which gives the UK time to recuperate and say, where to next? It seems to me the Brexiters just don't realise the danger of the situation the UK has got itself into, it is not politically or economically or fiscally or socially robust enough to manage a no-agreement Brexit without severe and lasting damage. It is exactly as Jonathan Pie tells it. the failure of the contract between the government and the people, and leaving the EU will not make the slightest difference to this fundamental point.
