I have something close to 'admiration' for the DUP, which, apart from the awful politics, are remarkably consistant in fighting for their narrow sectarian corner and percieved interests, often against tremendous odds and opposition.
It's stunning really how poorly Northern Ireland in covered in the UK media. That the DUP hold the balance of power in Westminster and Brexit, is seldom scrutinised for 'democratic legitimacy' considering a substantial majority in Northern Ireland voted 'remain.' What about the rights of that majority? How do the DUP get away with ignoring the views of the electorate like this? They are never asked questions about this. Especially in the current climate where the peoples' view are supposed to be so important and sacrosant.
That those lefty/nationalists in Sein Fein, at a historic time like this, sit on their ####ing 'principles' and don't take their seats in Westminster, given so much power to the DUP to speak for Northern Ireland, is another example of lefty dogma and morals, their precious, ####ing 'principles' pushing rationality aside, in favour of crass and stupid national romanticism.
