I always warmed more to Machiavelli than Marx. Marx was too optimistic and utopian. Too much of a German, romatic dreamer. I dread to think what they would have made of the world we live in now. Mussolini would, I'll venture have smiled and nodded like a sage or prophet. I'm not sure which is worse, that Glover really believes what he's saying, or that he's a cynical tactician on a crusade. I think, unfortunately, that he's a true bliever and he does sincerely hold that Corbyn personifies something close to evil and is a threat to everything Glover holds dear; like wealth, power and privilege and a fanatical lust to protect it with every fibre of his being and with every method at his disposal, clean and unclean. Once, before he became a 'national treasure' Tony Benn was seen in pretty much the same way as Corbyn and was in their cross-hairs too. Though unlike Benn, Corbyn really has a shot at becoming the PM as the Conservatives fall apart and the vacuum at the heart of politics opens up wider and wider.
