" where are the Marxists"?? A thought or two,,,," I think that Peterson is full of doubts that he can hardly admit to himself. That's why he comes acrosss as aggressively defensive. He sees himself as in a constant battle defending order against chaos in himself and in the world. You can project anything onto 'nature' and read it back as if it's a fact about the world. Individualists like Peterson see the world of nature in terms of competing individuals with hierarchical structures emerging from this competition. Social Darwinism as you say. Nature is complex. Because of an increased awareness of the seeming ubiquitey of things like symbiosis and gene transfer, it is becoming increasingly problematic to discern exactly where one individual organism begins and ends. Organisms can be seen as processes interacting with other processes on different levels from genes and enzymes within cells up to ecosystems.
