The phrase "all 3 and more" may fairly describe your personal motives, but it cannot describe a reason for a ban. I don't think walter or anyone else is suggesting that your motives aren't understandable, or are unreasonable. (I even shared your suspicion of wv's bona fides.) But this is not about you or your personal motives (good or bad). It's about how a community is run. If that doesn't matter (as people keep amazingly saying!), then nothing here matters, and everybody might as well just post da-da-da-da. In no sane community would the person (walter) asking for a reason for a disciplinary decision be regarded as the one who is out of line! It's very disappointing. And the disappointment is not in you, or even in this one decision (although I agree with walter that it was a bad one), but in the way that the group collectively acts as if you were a cult leader - which is clearly the reverse of what you wanted. There should be no pressure on you because of this. It is the general abandonment of critical faculties over this issue that should be a cause for reflection. |
