We have no idea how many rapes or sexual assaults go unreported - but the low prosecution rate will discourage reporting.
These numbers have tripled in the last 10 years - so there has clearly been a massive change.
Of course we have no idea how many male rapes and molestations have occurred either.
But these statistics have been presented: http://rapecrisis.org.uk/get-informed/about-sexual-violence/statistics-sexual-violence/ " 20% of women and 4% of men have experienced some type of sexual assault since the age of 16, equivalent to 3.4 million female and 631,000 male victims 3.1% of women (510,000) and 0.8% of men (138,000) aged 16 to 59 had experienced a sexual assault in the last year. "
Raising these horrific numbers regularly is not trolling of any sort DJ - the numbers are getting massively worse and this needs the attention of everyone in society.
A question was raised on QT about this issue this week: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0004pyz/question-time-2019-02052019 - it was on the recent statement by police that they would not prosecute if the victim refused to hand over their smart phone to the police. Some good points made on the panel and in the audience, imo.
