These things mean nothing to the gangsters in charge. It means something if they are properly and continually scrutinised and called out on it. In terms of PR they need to be able to hold up their 'moral high ground' in order to keep wagging fingers at the rest of the world. That moral high ground is currently crumbling in several areas: shaky ground lies ahead as countries around the rest of the world take note of the hypocrisy, embarrassingly obvious lies and ugly lawlessness and start really cocking a snoot. The hypocrisy over the recent action to Hong Hong - China extraditions needs to be called out, for example. I wouldn't fall into depressed apathy over all this. Keep spreading Assange's words, quotes, books into your local neighbourhood libraries, bookshops, faith groups. There's a lot that needs to be done to deconstruct the media smears: Assange's own words are the best antidote to the false narratives. Worldwide attention and awareness around this case has grown in the last few weeks alone. An artist like AiWeiWei (with hundreds of thousands of followers) is now speaking out about Assange, world-wide, and reaching new people. Eventually, public awareness could prove too weighty for UK to risk shipping an intellectual Caucasian from a Five Eyes country off to a Yankee Robben Island, turning him into a Mandela.
