I think, Ken, you live in Scotland -- sorry if I've got this wrong.
My point is that as someone from the north of England who voted Brexit, it is difficult for someone not living here and didn't vote Out to understand the anger that this latest Labour decision will entail. I had the same argument with a friend (and Labour supporter) today who doesn't feel it will make a critical difference. I couldn't disagree more. Yes, Labour might pick up some floating Remain voters not already scooped up by the Lib-Dems, but the vital 40/50 Labour seats in the north and midlands heartlands who voted to leave will be unforgiving.
Un-for-giving.
And when those seats are lost, as they will be, all the other putative gains will come nowhere near to replacing them. Labour as an electoral force will be finished. Members in their thousands will desert it. Momentum will collapse (and not before time, for other reasons). The Corbyn project will be history.
My friend, and Labour supporter, doesn't agree with me. I think he is wrong -- as I do you. We shall return to this following the next general election. Then we'll see who is right -- and wrong.
