"Corbyn had a brief eindow of opportunity, after the last election when Labour did far better than anyone expected/ predicted, the Blairites were thrown off balance and momentarily stopped their yapping..." I agree That was the moment for Corbyn to stamp his authority... Perhaps but the party bureaucracy is structured in arcane ways which can impede progress unless you have allies in place. Corbyn is short on the latter most especially in the PLP who despise him. "that was the time for him to make the left wing case for Brexit..." except there is no real left wing case for Brexit which is why he never made it and still hasn't. Whats "left wing" about allowing your economy to be screwed & losing people their jobs? "...betrayed his comrades and friends and allowed Tom Watson to become the leader of the party." Ah the curse of party loyalty and the arcane machine. He didn't "allow" it: Corbyn doesn't have the power to appoint or dismiss his deputy who is "democratically" elected to his position by Labours Electoral College stitch up in which two thirds of the votes are the PLP and Trade Union.
