Shouldn't XR spell out what kind of society they have in mind? Archived Message

I tend to see it as the fetishisation of poverty by those who have never known want. XR and those who support them need to spell out what kind of society they have in mind and how they think it will work. How many people, for example, will die if homes cannot be heated properly? How will those folk be 'chosen'? How many will die because medicines will no longer be produced - no industrial processes, no drugs, no vaccines, no hi-tech machines for scans, X-rays etc. Walk around any old cemetery and you can find endless grave markers of children who died of influenza, measles etc. Who will explain that this is what we will be going back to? And how will those kids be 'chosen'? Who will explain to Emma Thompson that she will no longer have to fly 5,000 miles from LA to London to attend XR protests because, in the brave new world of XR, there won't be a film industry or, indeed, any creative industries? The point is not hypocrisy, the point is that people, many people, are going to die in the world according to XR so who chooses?
