Especially not we of the PTP. We're just going to carry on indulging in both our self-pampering games (whilst we still can) and in these recurrent moral panics sweeping briefly through the narrativosphere, before expiring quietly after they run out their fad-life date - like all the previous ones. Just another form of chattering class indulgence, really.
It's a way of lessening the angst, because at bottom we know already that we're actually going to take the know-nothing, do nothing yeast/lemming/locust option, I'm afraid - by default.
For true consolation in this lamentable dilemma, take the very long view - and contemplate Mam G's extraordinary record so far at surviving and bouncing back from these crises. Or alternatively, indulge a bit more, in a despair-neurosis breakdown. Since we're mostly still - just - in the PTP, we might even be able to get some psychiatric help with that -whilst the NHS still lasts...
