| They won't change, deaths like this are a part and parcel of the American experience, as American as apple pie, just a bit more deadly. Can you see Trump agreeing to any sort of change? Shooting rampages are to the US what repeated cutting is to the disturbed teenager - a painful but addictive distraction from the misery of existence. I came to the conclusion many years ago that the USA is a psychotic nation; which means that for the UK to claim our "special relationship" with that country is for us to take part in some sort of trans-Atlantic "folie à deux". |
