There are apparently 5 million assault weapons floating around the US, more than are kept by US Army on US soil. Everything points to a sick, degraded society, given that these mass shootings which occur with regularity in the US are unknown or rare in a large majority of other nations. Hate crimes = terrorism? The Guardian refers to this latest terrorism as a " hate crime." The Collateral Damage Iraq videos show Americans committing hate crimes under the US army umbrella, mass shooting civilians from helicopters. This apparently has happened far more than we know, aside from the one example Chelsea Manning brought to world attention. A glorification of violence leads to 'acting out' by troubled kids ... who easily lay their hands on weapons. It appears there are no 'adults in the room' in the US. The 'parent' (govt & military) uses nasty, deadly bullying tactics, rather than mature dialogue or conflict resolution. That's the role model: amplified across many platforms via TV, movies, swaggering military culture. With that role model, why would anyone be surprised these deadly events take place? The USA is stomping around the world killing "terrorists" and "others" but is helpless and vulnerable in the face of its own domestic terrorists, grown in its own mulch
