Yes, class analysis is minimal in the public pronouncements of XR and climate strikers, and you don't hear the word 'capitalism' used much. I think that's a deliberate, in my view wrong-headed, tactic to not alienate potential support from right wingers and 'small c' conservatives who get scared off by those Big Nasty Words, and make the movement as big as possible (though weak and easily divided). Within the ranks of the movement the analysis is much more on point. Even at the climate strike I went to in Norwich there were several young speakers spelling out the links between climate collapse and capitalism, some explicitly calling for revolution. How it'll play out remains to be seen... In the meantime, more innuendo and lack of evidence (it 'has been exhaustively catalogued by Cory Morningstar' apparently - well it was exhausting to read it, I suppose...) His point about how, supposedly 'The ruling elite, including those backing the Extinction Rebellion and Green New Deal, are on the side of those who murdered [Berta] Caceres.' is somewhat undermined by the fact that XR named the Oxford Circus pink boat after her: It's not true that they ignore voices from the global south and indigenous people either. Just 2 examples of indigenous voices from Brazil being foregrounded:
Wouldn't want awkward things like that to get in the way of a good story though, would we? cheers, I
