Who said anything about climate change ? I deliberately condensed Gerta’s position to its core ingredient of campaigning to protect the planet from environmental damage, so as to illustrate that it’s a simple position that no rational person can disagree with; whetever she was lead into this position by adults, or is something she has worked out for herself, or even something she instinctively believes in, is missing the point of why SueC introduced the comparison; re-read her comment, as she is setting-up a straw-man argument in assuming that because I agree with with Gerta’s pov then I’m a hypocrite because I’m considering her as mature, whereas my actual position is quite the opposite, in that I agree with Gerta’s pov even though she is a child, simply because it co-incidences with what I consider an obvious pov, eg even if a child states an obvious truism, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the child is mentally mature as an adult. Is this really that hard to understand ? I repeat Sue’s comparison is meaningless as it's based on a false comparison, and on false logic. The only way her comparison could be valid would be if she was addressing it to somebody who was arguing that Gerta should not be considered as an immature child, while at the same time arguing that Shamima should be considered as an immature child, which is a (deliberate ?) misrepresentation of my position, as it will be abundantly clear to anybody with normal reading & comprehension skills, as my position has been very clear & consistent, both girls are still children, and have to be considered as such. |
