If you are not sickened by the cynical manipulation of this tragic event for political gain in the middle of an election by the Tory party and their friends in the media, there is not much I can say to you.
Do we know whether the killer was an ideologically motivated fanatic or a person with mental health problems who latched on to an ideology to justify his feelings of resentment and hatred? Or both?
Who says we can't examine the ideology? Of course, we should make an effort to understand peoples's motivations? Is that what you think the Mail is doing?
The west is quite happy to use jihadists against 'official enemies' in its machinations and proxy wars to serve its geopolitical interests. When it is empowering these fanatics, it is not much concerned about their ideological motivations.
The establishment only affect concern about their motivations and evil ideology when they bite back. These events can then be cynically exploited to further their domestic agenda.
We don't have to let ourselves be fooled.
