necessary today to revive a much older spelling that represented a longer, earlier-English version of the name, which had metamorphosed to just 'Shaksper' by Will's time...?
With such a supreme poet, we need to pay heed to what he himself said, verbally, aurally. Precise sound matters supremely to such sensibilities.(That's also why I assert that Ted Hughes wrote/spoke/heard specifically Yorkshire-English.And yes, there is such a thing; I'm a native-speaker myself, Sheffield variant!)
