Though I'll probably be dead by then, the escrow stakeholder should be able to judge pretty certainly by then that the self-driving cars bollocks is indeed just that: never-to-be-widespread bollocks, even if a few demo projects just about scrape into being before the Long Descent confines even them to museums of favourite-delusions-of-the-past. Like the Moon/Mars colonies, the flying cars and the jet-packs. None of them are going to happen to any significant degree; some not at all. The means to create them simply aren't available, and show absolutely no prospect of ever appearing. See thread 7 up for cogent reasons why. (I know, I know! Sticking my neck out yet again at the idiots' game of predicting the future! Addicts for it, aren't we...?)
