get the sense of someone who really is trying to steer an open-mindedly sceptical course through the climate-shift complexities - including saying from time to time: "We don't know" or "It's complex, and this is one of the many things that we still don't fully understand", and so on.
He appears to take no dogmatic-certainty positions, and always seems to recommend caution in reaching conclusions. But he doesn't seem to have either a denialist or an OMG!!! position. Like me, he seems to think that we should still be chary of the trouble that ramping ambient CO2 might cause, precautionary principle to the fore; but without embracing entirely the 'last chance to avert global catastrophe' extremes.
Mallen appears to be doing what I would be doing if I still had the energy: a methodical trawl through all the arguments, and all the fairly well-established scientific facts (as well as all the big uncertainties) pretty honestly. Anyone know more about his work? Here's a fairly typical example of his vids:
