I deny straw man accusations, dan. And where are the ad-homs? The arguments that you offer are all Archived Message

within this category of rational uncertainty, when examined critically with that thought in mind. It all looks like defending an emotionally-precious belief to me, rather than strict, open-minded rationality. So far, I haven't found anything in Mallen's output that breaches that strict requirement. That's about as much as I'm saying; together with the small tally of things about which I feel that I can be reasonably sure. Odd to condemn such a cautious approach so forthrightly... But then, I guess I'm questioning Holy Writ on climate, so I shouldn't be surprised. Still inclined to accept that we may indeed have a climate-emergency on our hands, btw. Just looking for rational, cautious approaches to what we should believe. As for what we should do: precautionary principle always to the fore: Act as if something bad is coming, and prepare as wisely as we can. But keep watching with an open mind, to see what actually happens. Now, where did I put that extra bale of straw...?
