I was just chatting with my brother about this and between the three of you, I think I now have a pretty good idea of what is going on with these tests and their reliability. It sounds as if the companies producing them are making unsubstantiated claims and that Canada's reluctance to approve them might be judicious for all the reasons you give, and which took me a bit of effort to wrap my head around. The sales pitch by the CFO quoted in the CBC article seems particularly misleading. And the promotion of the test by the WHO official now also seems suspect to me. Thanks again for taking the time. |
