Thank you, Ken Waldron, for putting the record straight and dealing with a remark that is intended to be deliberately offensive. It never ceases to amaze me that people who call themselves socialists and anti-imperialists remain blind to the un-socialist and imperialist character of calling those of us who simply want our democratic rights to rule ourselves 'sectarians' As you quite rightly say we despise sectarianism and everything the Orange Order stands for. As an eco-socialist I would like to see the politics of this island brought into the 21st Century where all our nations are free to govern themselves independently whilst cooperating with each other in mutual respect. That is certainly not what we have at the present where an anachronistic hangover from the past is allowed to haunt and curse us all on these islands. Those who can't see that have nothing to offer for our future. Indeed, they are very much part of the problem we face. |
