The Tories have overseen the run down of the NHS over 10 years. They knew they were not prepared (Exercise Cygnus) for a pandemic, which they were warned was inevitable at some point, but chose not to do anything about it. They should have been able to deal with a pandemic without compromising treatments for other life-threatening complaints and without disgorging the vulnerable elderly into care homes. The buck stops with the government not the media or anyone else. Johnson didn't and isn't looking at the big picture. I doubt if he's been looking at any picture at all. I doubt if he looks in the mirror any more. He knows the patriotic hero of Brexit he wanted to see has been revealed as the self-serving coward he has always been.
