Global ecological crisis, what should I do? Archived Message

Hello worthwhile folks, I'm thinking of joining you in the UK shortly for a few months. You know I live in NZ. You may know from past posts of mine that my wife and I have four daughters all presently (partly by coincidence) living in the pleasant Victorian railway and commuting town of Haslemere. Isn't south Surrey such a pretty area - coming from the north of England I'd never been there before last year- sort of Midsommer Murders country par excellence. Anyway, we have a newish grandson, our first, now age 17 months. My wife has flown over there just a couple of days ago to stay with the family for two months. One daughter has become romantically involved with lovely German man who lives in southern France, she's known him as a friend for fifteen years, in fact he was her tutor when she wrote her philosophy master's thesis in Victoria University, Wellington . So my wife might well have a break in France as well. And that fact is pertinent to my question.
But there's a problem. This daughter sent me a WhatsApp message this morning having heard I've arranged a house sitter from mid Augus, saying how exciting it'll be for me to travel to see them. I just written back, and will get a reply no doubt in your morning.
I so wish I could but, as a member of a younger generation and an aunt to an even newer one, you need to persuade me that I should. I'm looking at what's happening in southern Europe at the moment, in the USA, in China and all around the planet, we really cannot go on rampaging around the planet and threatening your and everyone else's future like this. You're the philosopher, perhaps you can tell me what I'm supposed to do? Lots of love from Dad 🤡🤡xxxxx
