LB can probably survive by not giving out the scholarships, and effectively hoping their fewer athletes are better, but every year you will have athletes leaving with offers.
Division 2 doesn't solve any of this. As even non scholarship schools can now give NIL.
The model has been shattered.

How does LBSU, already millions in debt, funded 20 more baseball scholarships? Likewise the other sports?
Which LB sports will soon be cut?
I give mid-major athletics maybe 6 years before they exit D1 for some new less expensive hybrid, at best.
Interesting how many mid major head coaches in various sports are doing the Tyler and moving to assistant positions in the P4. They see it coming.
• No money for new scholarships.
• No serious money for NIL cash (sorry but $49 per month is like trying to keep Titanic afloat with a shot glass).
• And, develop a good athlete and they get bought off by P4 with cash. Like our golfer who went to Florida.
Wonder if this isn't part of the Pyramid fix delay? Why spend $50m fixing an arena that won't be needed?
