Ok. So I like rojo, have nearly 40 years as a journeyman union carpenter. Retired but always learning still. I was introduced to a Mexican contractor at the Ferrepacifico in Melaque. This gentleman spent time in residential building in California. He wanted to try US building materials here. He took us to see his project located just outside Barra. It was in a secluded location, not a part of the pueblo. It was quaint and from what I saw, the guy hit a homerun with the knowledge he had from CA,utilizing it here on that project.
He also took us to another casa he built, a circular affair, located along the highway nearby also. Bottom line is, in my opinion, he knows what he's doing. He knows where to get the material, pretty sure it was all in Barra. I was impressed. Unfortunately, I can't recall his name. One of the staff working at Ferrepacifico introduced us. It was this fellows friend and the builder spoke fluent English. We talked a bit. Hope this helps
